Ayurveda

Kerala, the celebrated god’s own country, is the hub of Ayurveda.  Ayurveda, is a Sanskrit word literally means the science of life. It is the combination of two words ayur and veda.  Ayur denotes life and Veda, the science. From the time immemorial people around the globe has been attracted to this unique science of the east. Its prophesied philosophical and empirical plateau is unequivocal, holistic and proven.

Ayurveda, the Panchama Veda per say, is an ancient medical science which was developed in India thousands of years ago. Believed to have been passed on to humans from the Gods themselves, Ayurveda developed and evolved into what it is today from several ancient treatises, most notably Adharva Veda which dates back to five thousand years from now.  The ancient Vedic literature by sages has clearly laid out instructions to maintain health as well as fighting illness through therapies, massages, herbal medicines, diet control and exercise.

Kerala has numerous traditions and clans in Ayurveda practice. A lot of Vaidya families through generations actively involved in keeping the precious inheritance of this science in its pristine beauty and value. Panavally hierarchy is one among them which has been peopled after the might of Chittayil tradition.
